SURF OBSERVATIONS
Rory's Fave -- 11/4/07
Always busy here
Date: November 4, 2007
Time: 0700 -- 0930
Spot(s): Rory's Fave
Conditions: Kind of stormy, but still decent
Swell: Rising NNW swell
Surf: 3-5'+ Haw'n
Words: Pouring rain with lightning and thunder last night. But besides the weather and
wind, the bigger decision was whether to head to Town or the Country to surf.
Overslept, but that was ok given the funky weather. Driving up, I passed by no less than four accidents. Stopped for one on the H-1, with a shaken lady hitting the guardrail after shin deep ponding made her hydroplane.
Finally got out to the Country and zigzagged the strip looking for a place to go. Was on the rise, but the north angle made most spots kinda fickle. Met Justin and headed to his favorite spot nicknamed Rory's Fave.
There were a few reeling lefts, but eventually a big set shut us down. Time to go.
Still wanted to ride, so went to the beach park to fool around at Ehukai. Caught some fun ones there before calling it a day. Surf was still on the rise.
