SURF OBSERVATIONS
Ebbing Winter -- 4/9/05--1

Maybe Jock Sutherland?
Date: April 9, 2005
Time: 0700--0900
Spot(s): Lani's
Conditions: Clean and offshore
Swell: Tiny north on the decline
Surf: 1-3' Haw'n
Words:
Through the week, I was tortured by images and stories of great surf from a late-season north swell. I was stuck doing my best imitation of Dilbert, trapped in cubicle hell.
This weekend warrior finally got a chance to get wet, but only after the swell had all but lost its energy. Regardless, I was still so stoked to get wet, and conditions were actually beautiful.
Played around with the shortboard this time. Took a different tact, sitting on the inside and going more for the lefts rather than the favored rights. Still caught a few nuggets here and there.
The winter is ebbing off. Sob!
