SURF OBSERVATIONS
Changing of the Seasons - 4/13/03

Greg, scoring a nice one on the inside

Date: April 13, 2003
Time: 0600--0900
Spot(s): Lighthouse
Conditions: Firm trades, medium crowds
Swell: Small south with a smaller tradewind wrap
Surf: 2-3' Haw'n

Words: The season is changing. The northern hemi is winding down, with more of the action happening in the southern hemi. It was with a bit of sadness that I had my first South Shore session of the year.

Surf was actually quite fun, with mostly head-high conditions. Though not as powerful, there still was some decent bowls to be had.

It was nice seeing some of the familiar crew at D-Head. Clayton, Greg, Roy and others. They seem to always be there, sharing the waves with a smile.

Some unfamiliar faces were there, and I heard that there was even a slight altercation after I left (that Buddy and Rich defused), but for the most part the vibe was pretty mellow. I can't say I'm looking forward to the summer, but it was refreshing to be among the company of good acquaintances.

So glassy early on!
